PLN opens tender for Ulumbu geothermal power plant project

ADB LOAN 1982-INO
RENEWABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT SECTOR PROJECT
The Republic Indonesia has received a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of the Renewable Energy Development (RED) Sector Project. Part of this loan will use for payments under the contract named below. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.
PT. PLN (Persero) (the Employer) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the design, supply, transportation, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the complete geothermal power plant project (?the Works?) under the following Contract Package as part of the RED project:
ULUMBU GEOTHERMAL POWER PLANT PROJECT (2 X 2.5 MW)
FLORES, NUSA TENGGARA TIMUR
International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB?s Two Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB. Bidders must meet post qualification criteria as stipulated in the Bidding Document including experience as main contractor or subcontractor for steam power plant/cogeneration projects and experience of the proposed turbine/generator supplier in manufacturing geothermal units with a minimum capacity of 2.5 MW.

To purchase the bidding documents in English, eligible bidders should:
- Collect the documents from the address below from 30 September 2005 or the employer can send by courier to the bidder for an additional amount of US$ 100
- Pay a non-refundable fee of three million rupiah (Rp. 3.000.000,-).
Bidders should deliver their technical and price proposals:
- to the address below
- on or before the deadline: 2:00 p.m. WIST on 10 January 2006
- together with a bid security of US$ 200,000 which must be included with the technical proposal.
The technical proposal will be opened immediately after the deadline in the presence of bidder representatives who choose to attend.
The price proposal and supplementary price proposals, if provided, will be opened in the presence of bidder?s representatives who choose to attend at the place, time, and date as indicated in the employer?s invitation for the second stage bid opening, after approval of the ADB of the evaluation of the technical proposals.
When comparing bids, ADB?s domestic Preference Scheme will applied in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the Bidding Document.
