PLN opens tender to develop Papua coal-fired power plants

State electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) Papua and West Papua Region announced on Monday PQ tender opening to develop three coal-fired power plants with combined capacity of 58-MW in the region under the IPP scheme.
The company?s PQ tender announcement said that it sough investors to develop 2x7-MW power plant in Manokwari and 2x15-MW in Sorong, both are located in West Papua province and another 2x7-MW in Biak Numfor in Papua province.
PLN will buy electricity produced for 25 years and investors will operate the plants under build-own-transfer (BOT) mechanism.(romel)
