PLN operates 70 kV transmission in Central Sulawesi

State owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN) announced on Wednesday it has officially operated a 70 kV transmission line connecting the Sidera (Palu Baru) substation with the Talise substation in Central Sulawesi province.

The new transmission line, together with the 150 kV High Voltage Overhead Transmission Line connecting both substations which was completed last April will strengthen the power system in the province, PLN said in a statement.

The 70 kV transmission line has a length of 40 circuit km and consist of 64 towers. Meanwhile, the 150 kV has a length of 57.56 circuit km and consists of 89 towers.

In his speech during the ceremony to inaugurate the 70 kV transmission line on Wednesday, PLN?s Director for Sulawesi & Nusa Tenggara regions Machnizon Masri said thanks to the two new transmission lines, the supply of power in Palu, the capital of Central Sulawesi, and surrounding areas will get improved.
