State-owned electricity firm PT PLN said Tuesday it has succeeded in setting up and operating an emergency electricity transmission tower to temporarily replace the 150 kV Indarung-Bungus transmission tower in Padang, West Sumatra, which collapsed on January 9.

The company said in a statement that the emergency tower was operated on January 11, ensuring power supply to its customers in the region.

The relatively quick installment of the emergency tower was a result of hard work of the PLN officials, the company added.
