PLN, Pertamina signs agreement in LNG terminal, transportation
Thursday, March 24 2011 - 03:43 AM WIB
The agreement was signed by PLN's president director Dahlan Iskan and Pertamina's president director Karen Agustiawan in Jakarta on Thursday.
Dahlan said the agreement aims to provide gas for PLN's power plants in eastern Indonesia, where the firm now mostly use high speed diesel to generate power. It will thus allow the state electricity firm to significantly cut its power genreation costs in the region.
Both companies look forward to establishing a joint venture in gas transportation and LNG receiving terminal in the region. In the beginning, they will form a task force to carry out legal, technical, financial and feasibility studies on the development of a mini LNG receiving terminal in the region. (bernard/godang)
