State utility PT PLN and state oil and gas company PT Pertamina have agreed to sign a Heads of Agreement (HoA) on the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Arun plant in Aceh to the gas-fired PLTG Belawan in North Sumatra in September this year.
"Aceh and Medan need about 105 bbtud of gas from Arun. We?re preparing a HOA with Pertamina. We target that we can finalize it in September,? PLN?s Oil Fuels and Gas Division Head M.Suryadi Mardjoeki told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Saturday.
Suryadi noted that both PLN and Pertamina were determined to finalize the HoA in September.?Both are eager to get it done next month,? he said.
Separately, Pertamina?s LNG Marketing Vice President Djohardi Angga Kusumah confirmed that there had been an agreement between PLN and Pertamina to supply gas to PLTG Belawan from Arun LNG plant in Nangroe Aceh Darussalam.
"We?ve got an approval for the allocation of gas from Arun,? he said, adding that beside the gas from Arun, his company was also waiting for an allocation of gas from Tangguh plant in West Papua. ?But we haven?t had a confirmation for the Tangguh gas supply,? he said without giving any further details.
