Deputy Director Tonny Agus Mulyantono told Petromindo.Com on Monday that Mitsubishi was selected following an evaluation conducted by PLN?s team.
A company official told Petromindo.Com Suralaya-1 revamping project tender was divided into two lots, the first being turbine procurement tender with Mitsubishi as the only participant.
The second lot is boiler procurement tender with Sumitomo Corp. and Marubeni Corp. as bidders. The source said Marubeni bids for US$80 million, while Sumitomo bids for $70 million, but did not include control system and classifier, which was estimated to worth $25 million. ?Sumitomo might be disqualified,? the source said, adding that the tender now has entered ?commercial evaluation? stage.
Total value for turbine and boiler is estimated at US$110 million.
The project was funded by the loan from JBIC and is slated to start by year-end or early next year. (godang)
