State-owned electricity company PT PLN and state-owned fire arms manufacturer PT PINDAD signed an MoU on Thursday for the supply of specific electricity technical equipment and maintenance/recondition of specific electricity facilities.

PLN said in a statement that the MoU, which was signed by company President Director Nur Pamudji and PINDAD Director of Products Tri Hardjono, also covers utilization of production facilities and assets.

Pamudji said that the cooperation with PINDAD should help reduce the company?s import of spare parts, equipment and services, allowing the company to spend part of its annual maintenance budget of Rp 13.3 trillion at home. ?Gradually, this will have to increase,? he said.

PLN in 2012 signed a similar agreement with PINDAD, specifically covering PLN?s eastern part of Indonesia operation, under which PLN has used a number of PINDAD products such as generators with capacity of less than 1MW. The new MoU will expand this agreement cover the entire PLN operation, the statement said.
