PLN plans second tender for biofuel supply

State-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) plans to hold a second tender at the end of March or in April for the supply of 123,000 kilo liters per year of biofuel for three years.

PLN Head of Fuel and Gas Division, Suryadi Mardjoeki told Petromindo.com that the biofuel will be mixed with high-speed diesel to fuel power plants in Kalimantan, Sumatra, South Sulawesi, and West Nusa Tenggara.

PLN has named palm oil producers PT SMART Tbk and PT Wilmar Nabati as the winners in the first tender for the supply of 7,000 kilo liters of biofuel. The two firms are expected to start supplying the fuel next month.
