State-owned electricity firm PT PLN plans to hold tender for three combined-cycle power plant (PLTGU) projects around June of this year in the hope that they can be completed in 2019.

President Director of PLN Sofyan Basir said on Wednesday that the three PLTGU projects included PLTGU Jawa-3 with capacity of MW to be located in Gresik, East Java; PLTGU Peaker Jawa Bali-3 with capacity of 500 MW, and PLTGU Peaker Jawa Bali-4 with capacity of 500 MW.

He said that the tender for three PLTGU projects will be held once the company has completed the 2017-2026 electricity procurement business plan (or RUPTL).

?Tender will be opened around month six of this year. We?re still waiting for the results of the RUPTL,? he told reporters, adding that the RUPTL is expected to be finalized soon.

He said that construction of a gas-fired power plant can be completed within 1.5-2 years.
