State-owned electricity firm PT PLN plans to offer three combined-cycle power plant projects to investors via tender this year to help meet the government?s target to develop a combined 35,000 MW power plants by 2019, according to company senior official.

PLN Procurement Director Supangkat Iwan Santoso said on Wednesday that three power plant projects include PLTGU Jawa-3 combined-cycle power plant with capacity of 800 MW in Gresik, East Java, PLTGU Peaker Jawa Bali-3 with capacity of 500 MW, and PLTGU Peaker Jawa Bali-4 with capacity of 500 MW.

?We?re making preparations for the tender. All must be put on tender this year,? he said.

Supangkat said that three planned power plants will be located close to gas sources to help reduce logistical costs and the selling price of the electricity output.

He added that PLN will be responsible in supplying the required gas for the three power plants.
