PLN plans to build gas engine power plant in Timah early 2017

State-owned power firm PT PLN plans to start development of a total 50 MW gas engine power plant (PLTMG) in Timaka, Papua Province, early next year.
Manager of PLN Timika area, Salmon Karet was quoted by Antaranews as saying Monday that the company has been in intensive talks with the local Timika government to discuss the required permits and other matters to realize the project.
He said that the power plant will be developed in stages, with 10 MW expected to start on stream next year. (*)
