State owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) plans to build a 240 MW gas-fired power plant near the Donggi-Senoro LNG project in Central Sulawesi as part of the company?s second 10,000 megawatt power plant development program.

The company?s director for technology and planning, Nasri Sebayang, said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the construction of the power plant still depends on the government?s decision on the domestic allocation of Donggi-Senoro gas.

According to him, the upstream oil, gas regulator BPMIGAS has recommended government to allocate around 60 BBTUD to PLN.

PLN plans to build a total of 93 new power plants as part of the Phase Two 10,000 MW power plant development program, which are expected to complete in 2014, he added. (*)
