PLN plans to sell power plants to raise funds to build more

State electricity firm PLN will sell three coal-fired power plants in Java that the company is currently constructing in order to raise fund to build more power plants, President Fahmi Mochtar said on Wednesday.

Fahmi said PLN planned to sell Lontar/Teluk Naga power plant in Tangerang, Banten with capacity of 3x315MW, Cilacap 600-MW power plant in Central Java and Tanjung Awar-Awar 700-MW power plant in East Java.

The power plants are part of the 10,000-MW crash program the government is undertaking to cope with Java electricity supply shortage.

Fahmi said PLN?s subsidiaries PT.Indonesia Power and PT. Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB) to manage the sale.(Bernard)
