PLN: PLTU Tenayan to start commercial operation before year-end

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN now expects the 2x100 MW PLTU Tenayan coal-fired power plant in Riau Province to start commercial operation before the end of this year, a slight delay from the initial target of the first semester.

Director of PLN for Sumatra Region, Amir Rosyiddin expressed optimism that the first unit of the PLTU Tenayan would be able to start commercial operation at the end of October, when the commissioning and reliability test which started on Saturday can be completed within the next 30 days. ?This morning, the first unit started the commissioning and reliability test,? he said on the sidelines of a visit as quoted by local news portal Riauterkini.com

He said that the unit 2 is targeted to start commercial operation at the end of this year, or in January/February of next year at the latest. (*)
