PLN postpones announcement of LNG supply tender winners

State owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) (Persero) has postponed the announcement of the winners of the tender of LNG supply for its gas engine power plants (PLTMG) from the initial schedule of July 17 to sometime in August.
Gas and Oil Fuel Division Head Chairani Rachmatullah said the postponement was made because PLN is still faced difficulties in finding 32 locations for the PLTMG projects, particularly in East Kalimantan.
?The announcement has apparently been postponed. Tender documents are not complete yet due to problems related to land appropriation. Our survey team is still looking for alternative locations,? he said.
PLN was seeking gas supply amounting between 100-230 mmscfd for 32 PLTMGs it plans to build in some provinces in central Indonesia. The power plants are expected to come on stream in 2016-2018. Of the total volume, 41 mmscfd is for 10 power plants in East Nusa Tenggara Province with combined capacity of 450 MW; 94 mmscfd for 14 power plants in Sulawesi with combined capacity of 1,520 MW; and 48 mmscfd for 8 plants in Kalimantan with combined capacity of 561 MW.
PLN said in April there were 91 firms interested to participate in the tender.
