State-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) decided to postpone by one month the tender for the procurement and construction of its compressed natural gas (CNG) marine transportation project in Lombok.

"Because several companies have asked for this, we've decided to postpone it to August 30, from initial schedule of July 30," said Suryadi Mardjoeki, Head of oil Fuel and Gas Division at PLN, told Petromindo.com.

Suryadi added that the request was the result of a wider scope of works for the tender.

Initially, the CNG marine project will center on the construction and operation of a CNG marine carrier, and the loading & discharging facilities in Lombok. The construction of a mother station in Gresik is now also included in the works.

Under the plan, the CNG vessel will transport gas from Terang Sirasun gas field in East Java to PLN?s gas-fired power plant in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
