Earlier, the bidders were told to take application dorms in the case of the first four power plants before April 11, 2006 and before April 18 in the case of North Sumatra and Bali plants.
"The last date for picking up of tender application forms for prequalification period in case of six power plants has been postponed to April 27 and May 2, 2006 respectively," PLN spokesman Muljo Adji said in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to him, there were several local as well as foreign investors who have expressed their interest in these six plants during the prequalification period.
"Among the companies that have taken the tender documents, there were more local companies than foreign But that was only just taking forms and it was not known whether later they will submit their bids or not?" he said.
To build these six power plants, an investment of $2.27 billion or Rp 20 trillion is needed.
"Regarding investment, currently it is around $1 million per megawatt," he said.
PLN is planning to complete the tender process for these six power plants by mid 2006.(Godang)
