PLN power units agree on price for PTBA coal

The 2x65 MW Bukit Asam power plant in South Sumatra, a power unit of state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), has agreed to pay Rp592,348 per ton for coal to be purchased this year from state-owned coal miner PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk (PTBA)

According to the deal reached in March of this year, the price is the same with last year?s price of Rp592,348 per ton (FOB).

The parties have a long-term coal supply contract with a volume of 1.1 million tons of coal per year.

Meanwhile, another PLN unit the Tarahan 2x100 MW power plant in Lampung province has also reached a price agreement for the PTBA coal.

Tarahan power plant has agreed to pay Rp732,576 per ton, same with last year?s price.

Under a contract first signed in April 2007, PTBA agreed to supply about 17.1 million tons of coal until 31 Dec 2031 to Tarahan power plant, with price to be renegotiated every year. For the volume, PTBA supplies about 700,000 tons per year to the power plant.
