INVITATION TO PREQUALIFICATION
ASAHAN NO.3 HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT PROJECT LOT I : CIVIL WORKS
JICA LOAN NO. IP-532

1. The Government of Indonesia (Gal) through its executing agency ?PT. PLN (Persero)? has received a loan under the Official Development Assistance (ODA) from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) toward the cost of captioned project.

2. PT. PLN (Persero) intends to pro-qualify international contractor(s) specializing in hydra power civil works and underground excavation. The Works under this Hydroelectric Power Plant Project with installed capacity of 2 x 87 MW comprising of intake weir, Intake, headrace conduit, headrace channel, head pond, pressured headrace tunnel, surge tank, penstock shaft, underground powerhouse tailrace surge tank. Tailrace tunnel, tailrace outfall and switchyards, and all related works under the following Contract Package:

North Sumatera (Sumatera Utara) Province, Indonesia

3. Pre-qualification is open to firms voluntarily formed joint ventures and consortium from eligible countries who have successful previous experience within the last ten (10) years in:
(a) Five (5) large infrastructure projects including one (1) hydroelectric power plant civil works and including one (1) large infrastructure projects under FIDIC?s Conditions of Contract financed by JICA, World Bank or Asian Development Bank (ADB)
(b) One (1) projects including pressure tunnel of minimum diameter 3.0 m and minimum length of 1,000 m excavated with NATM, and
(c) One (1) underground powerhouse of excavated volume of at least 50,000m3.

4. The documents are available for a non-refundable fee of Indonesian Rupiah Five Million (Rp. 5,000,000) and Applicants may obtain the prequalification document from August 03, 2010, within office hours, from the address below:

5. Submission of Applications for Pre-qualification, in one (1) original and two (2) copies, must be received in sealed envelopes or packages, either delivered by hand or by registered mail to the address above not later than. September 21, 2010, within office hour, and be clearly marked ?Application to Pre-Qualification for Asahan No. 3 Hydroelectric Power Plant Project Lot I : Civil Works, JICA Loan No. lP-532?

6. Applicants will be advised, in due course, of the results of their applications. Only qualified Applicants will be invited to bid.
