INVITATION TO PREQUALIFICATION
PEUSANGAN 1 & 2 HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT PROJECT
LOT III: ELECTROMECHANICAL WORKS
JICA LOAN NO. IP-538

1. The Government of Indonesia (Gol) through its executing agency "PT. PLN (Persero)" has received a loan under the Official Development Assistance (ODA) from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) toward the cost of the captioned project and allocated the loan Japanese Yen 5,614 million to Lot III, Electromechanical Works.

2. PT. PLN (Persero) intends to pre-qualify International Contractor(s) specializing in electromechanical works. The Peusangan 1 & 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant Project is located in Aceh Province, and will provide electric power of 88 MW (2x22.5MW and 2x21.5MW) for the power grid of Northern Sumatra. The works will incorporate Electromechanical Works of hydraulic turbines and hydro-generators:

3. Pre-qualification is open to firms and voluntarily formed joint ventures and consortium from eligible countries who have successful previous experience for:
(1)Contracts including hydraulic turbines and/or hydro-generators for two (2) hydropower construction projects of 23MW or larger located outside Applicant?s registered home country or in Indonesia, and at least one (1) project located in Southeast Asia countries; of which fulfils as follows:
i. Each hydropower construction project was completed in 1980 or later
ii. Defects liability certificate or equivalent issued by the Employer or by the Engineer
iii. Successful and continuous operation for two (2) years for each hydropower plant.
iv. One (1) project was financed by JICA, World Bank or Asian Development Bank
v. One (1) project under the ODA loan?s standard conditions of contract or the conditions of contract for electrical and mechanical works issued by FIDIC
(2) Successful experience of more than 30 years in design, manufacture, site installation and site testing of the hydraulic turbines for 23MW or larger for two (2) hydropower construction projects
(3) Successful experience of more than 30 years in design, manufacture, site installation and site testing of vertical-shaft generators for 26MVA for two (2) hydropower construction projects

4. The documents are available for a nonrefundable fee of Indonesian rupiah Five Million (Rp. 5,000,000) and applicants may obtain prequalification document from July 1,2010, at 9:00 am. - 15:00 p.m., from the address below:

5. Submission of applications for Pre-qualification, in one (1) original and two (2) copies, must be received in sealed envelopes or packages, either delivered by hand or by registered mail to the address above not letter than August 16, 2010, within office hour, and be clearly marked ?Application to Pre-Qualification for Peusangan 1 & 2 Hydroelectric Power Plan Project Lot Ill: Electromechanical Works, JICA Loan No. IP 538?.

6. Applicants will be advised, in due course, of the results of their applications. Only qualified Applicants will be invited to bid.
