PLN proposed for spin off

The Ministry of Finance and the Office of the State Ministry of State Owned Enterprises are currently reviewing a proposal for state-owned electricity company PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to be split into two to help resolve the power deficit in the country, Bisnis Indonesia daily reported on Monday.
Head for economic policies at the Ministry of Finance?s Fiscal Policy Agency (or known as BKF) Luky A. Firman said that the spin off proposal was by economists working with BKF.
He added that the proposal is currently being reviewed in terms of the economic, financial, and legal aspects as well as the possibility of having to revise the law. (*)
