PLN re-tenders Tanjung Jati B coal supply

PLN said the decision to re-tender coal supply was due to limited participants in the fisrt tender that was opened last March.
PLN said between 0.5-2 million tons per year of medium calorific value coal for approximately 10 years commencing June 2006 from Indonesian coal miners with existing and future coal operations.
PLN is seeking for coal with minimum calorific value of 5,600 kcal/kg on gross as received with FOB basis.Tender document can be obtained at PLN office in Jakarta starting may 6, 2006. Tender document would be closed June 2, 2005.
Tanjung Jati B plant is owned by PT. Central Java Power (CJP), in which Japan trading house Sumitomo is controlling shareholder. CJP entered into a 20-year long-term lease with PLN, under which PLN will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the power plant during the lease period.
The plant will commence operations in 2006.(alex)
