PLN ready to supply electricity for smelters

State utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has been geared up to supply electricity needed for smelters to be constructed across the country, top official of the firm said.
PLN President Director Nur Pamudji said that the company has no significant problem that could hamper it in providing electricity for the smelters.
He also ruled out concerns over poor infrastructure facility to support gas channelled to power plant in western part Indonesia.
"Until today, we have no request from miners to build smelters in Sumatra," he told Petromindo.com.
Previously, director general of electricity of energy and mineral resources ministry, Jarman said that lack of infrastructure facility to support supply of gas in Sumatra could hamper the development of smelters in the island.
