PLN ready to supply power to KEK Sei Mangkei

State owned electricity firm PT PLN is constructing a 150 kV power substation with a transformer capacity of 60 MVA to supply power to the KEK Sei Mangkei special economic zone which state owned plantation firm PTPN III plans to build in Simalungun regency, North Sumatra.
A 60 transformer can service up to 50 MW. The transformer capacity can be upgraded to 120 MVA, PLN said in a statement, adding that the facility will come onstream by end-2015.
It is among several infrastructure projects inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday in North Sumatra.
