PLN Rengat branch suffers power deficit, causing brownouts

The Rengat branch of state-owned electricity company PT PLN in Riau Province suffered power deficit of up to 9MW, causing brownouts in several districts in Indrahulu Regency, local reports said Saturday.
Assistant Manager of the branch Arip Supriyadi was quoted as saying that six power generation units including rented ones in the regency either underwent trouble or maintenane.
He said that the electricity brownouts are expected to last until end May.(*)
