PLN rents diesel generators to overcome crisis

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN had decided to rent diesel generators to overcome shortage of electricity supplies in several parts of the country.

 

Company president director Director Eddie Widiono disclosed that the PLN's subsidiary PT Kokindo would hold a tender to get the generators.

 

“We had been asked by the government to be responsive to power crisis-affected regions. PLN has prepared strategies, including the procurement of diesel power plants by Kokindo,” he said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

 

Transmission and distribution director Herman Darnel Ibrahim said that regions that were experiencing power shortage included northern Sumatra, southern Sumatra, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Palu and Parigi. (*)
