State utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) saw its net profit decreasing by Rp 2.2 trillion to Rp 3.2 trillion in 2012, from Rp 5.4 trillion in 2011 and Rp 10.1 trillion in 2010.

The profit decrease was due to the increase in foreign exchange loss by Rp 4.1 trillion from Rp 1.8 trillion in 2011 to Rp 5.9 trillion in 2012, the company said in a press statement on Friday.

The decrease was also caused by non-cash transactions that brought no impact to the company?s EBITDA, which increased by 26.1 percent to Rp 52.4 trillion in 2012 from Rp 41.6 trillion in 2011.

During the year 2012, PLN recorded a total income of Rp 232.7 trillion, an increase of 12 percent from Rp 208 trillion in 2011.

Its administration and general costs increased by 1.8 percent from Rp 4,4 trillion in 2011 to Rp 5.2 trillion in 2012.

Its labor cost only increased by 1 percent from Rp 13.1 trillion in 2011 to Rp 14.4 trillion in 2012.

In 2010, its administration and general costs amounted to Rp 4.3 trillion and its labor cost was at Rp 12.9 trillion.

The increase of its total income in 2012 was attributable to the increase of power sales, as a result of the increase of its power consumers to 3,900,104 and the increase of sales volume at 4.892 GWh.

The company?s total of costs in 2012 was recorded at Rp 203.1 trillion, an increase of 9 percent as compared to Rp 185,6 trillion in 2011.
