State-owned electricity company PLN?s petroleum fuel and gas consumption for its entire power plants across the country in 2013 exceeded the target set in its work and budget plan, a senior company official said.
Head of PLN Fuel and Gas Division Suryadi Mardjoeki told Petromindo.com on Monday that petroleum fuel consumption reached 7.47 million kilo liters, or 12,000 kl more than target.
Meanwhile, gas consumption reached 409,890 bbtu, or 9 bbtu more than target, he added.
Suryadi said that the largest consumption of petroleum fuel (high speed diesel) was at the Belawan gas-fired power plant in North Sumatra at about 3 million kl because gas supply to the plant has been stopped since July as production at the Glagah Kambunan field, operated by PT Pertamina EP, depleted. As a consequence, PLN had to use 1,400 of HSD per day to fuel the plant, Suryadi was quoted by Bisnis Indonesi daily as saying.
