PLN?s fuel consumption has exceeded 75% of full-year target

Suryadi Mardjoeki, Head of Gas and Fuel Division at state-owned electricity firm PLN, said that as of August of this year, consumption of petroleum-based fuel by the company?s power plants stood at 5.6 million kiloliters, or 75.6 percent of the full-year target of 7.4 million kiloliters. In comparison, as of August of last year, PLN?s fuel consumption reached 7.4 million kiloliters.

Meanwhile, gas consumption during the same 8-month period of this year reached 227.2 trillion BTU, or 65.8 percent of the full-year target of 344.8 trillion BTU. As of August of last year, the consumption volume was 191.9 trillion BTU.

Coal consumption by the company?s power plants in the same period totaled 23.9 million tons, or 62.7 percent of the full-year target of 38.1 million tons. In comparison, coal consumption as of August of 2011 reached 18.5 million tons.
