PLN's Kalimantan HSD supply tender attracts bidders

At least 10 companies have expressed interest in participating in the tender to supply high speed diesel (HSD) for state owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara's (PLN) two power plants, respectively in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, and in Tanjung Batu in East Kalimantan, Kontan reported Thursday.

The bidders will compete for three-year contracts to supply 150,000 kiloliters of HSD to the Pontianak power plant and another 300,000 kiloliters to the Tanjung Batu power plant.

At least ten companies have come to PLN's office to pick up bidding documents since the state owned firm announced the tender late last month.

The ten companies include PT Aneka Kimia Raya (AKR), PT Shell Indonesia, PT Bumi Asri Prima Pratama, PT Mahaputra, formerly known as PT Sigma Rancang Bangun Persada, and PT Patra Niaga, a unit of state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, Widayanto, the chairman of the fuel procurement of PLN, said in Jakarta Wednesday.

Earlier, PLN has named Royal Dutch/Shell winner in a tender to supply HSD to the company?s power plants in Grati, East Java and Belawan, North Sumatra. Shell won the contracts to supply 600,000 kiloliters of HSD to Grati and 250,000 kiloliters to Belawan.(*)
