Indonesia?s state-owned electricity company PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has signed an MoU with Malaysia?s Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) for ?cooperation in all areas? including a possible interconnection between North Kalimantan and neighboring Sabah.
PLN President Director Nur Pamudji, and SESB Managing Director Abd Razak Sallim signed the MoU on Friday.
Nur said that the cooperation forms part of steps toward the realization of the electricity network integration in ASEAN.
He added that the cooperation with SESB opens the possibility of developing a large power plant in North Kalimantan as the electricity produced can be partly exported to the neighboring Sabah.
