It was reported that the new terminal experienced a power cutoff for an hour during the first-day operation of the Ultmate terminal last Tuesday, Aug, 9, 2016. PLN noted however in a statement on Monday that during the day, power supply to the airport was at normal level of 65 MW, while the demand of the airport was only 36 MW.
The firm however did not explain why the incident happened.
PLN?s spokesperson said I Made Suprateka said upon being informed about the power cutoff, PLN immediately sent team to examine the power system in the new terminal. They found however all the system, including the power supply, was in prime condition.
He said security and reliability of power supply to the Soerkano-Hatta airport is relatively high since it is delivered through two separate sub-systems, that is the Lontar-Kembangan and Muara Karang-Gandung sub-systems through three substations, namely Cengkareng, Tangerang and Teluk Naga substations. To strengthen the reliability and security of supply, PLN is building a 2x60 MVA substation worth Rp 150 billion, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2017.
