PLN says Tarakan plant has absorbed gas from Bunyu field

State-owned electricity company PLN said that its Tarakan gas-fired power plant has already absorbed 2 mmscfd of gas from the Bunyu gas field in the Sangata Block in East Kalimantan owned by PT Pertamina EP for East Indonesia Region since July.

This was said by M. Suryadi Mardjoeki, Head of the Gas and Fuel Division at PLN, dismissing earlier remarks made by Satoto Agustono to Petromindo.com on July 28 that the Tarakan power plant was not yet ready to absorb gas from the Bunyu gas field as one of its turbine has yet to fully operate.

?I have contacted the president director of the Tarakan plant, it turns out that the Tarakan plant has absorbed 2 mmscfd of gas from Bunyu,? Suryadi told Petromnindo.com. He stressed that following the start of the commissioning of the Bunyu field in early July, the Tarakan plant had already started absorbing the gas in mid July.
