PLN secures Rp 16.3t loans

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN signed on Thursday loan agreements totaling Rp 16.3 trillion with mostly domestic bank and non-bank financial institutions to help finance its various power projects.
PLN said that the 10-year investment credit facilities comprise of Rp 12 trillion conventional loans, and Rp 4.3 trillion of Islamic Syariah loans.
The conventional loans were signed with several lenders including Bank Mandiri, BCA, BRI, PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur, Indonesia Eximbank, Bank Mega, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd., PT Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Syariah loans were signed with Maybank Indonesia, Bank Mandiri Syariah, PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur, Bank Negara Indonesia Syariah, and Bank Permata Syariah. PLN said that this is the first Syariah loan signed by the company, and considered as the largest so far in Indonesia.
