State-owned electricity firm PT PLN is seeking complete data from coal producers in the country including in terms of coal reserves and coal characteristics and quality to help ensure better planning for future power plant projects.
Harlen, Head of Coal Division at PLN, told Petromindo.com last week that for this purpose, the company is set to soon launch a web-based application system where the coal miners can input the required data.
Harlen said that the data is important for the company not only to determine future coal reserves in the country, but also in designing future power plants based on zoning system, where the boiler technology selected will be based on the coal quality and characteristics in each zone.
