PLN seeks gas supply certainty from South, West Batara & Tangguh

State electricity company PT PLN said it is seeking assurance from upstream authority BPMIGAS over gas supply from West Betara and South Betara fields in Jabung PSC onshore Jambi, operated by Petrochina.
Petrochina, an oil and gas contractor of BPMIGAS, is scheduled to deliver 30 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas in June this year. However, up until today PLN has yet to receive assurance that the gas delivery will begin as scheduled.
?PLN has been promised to get gas from Petrochina Jabung with a volume of 30 mmscfd. However, there are reports of land-permit related problem there,? PLN?s Division Head for Oil and Gas, M. Suryadi Mardjoeki told Petromindo.com.
Suryadi also said PLN is also waiting for the government?s decision over gas allocation from Tangguh LNG project operated by BP Plc.
PLN has said it was seeking 1 million tons per annum (mtpa) of gas from Tangguh. It is hoping that portion of gas scheduled to be delivered to Sempra Energy in the US can really be diverted to domestic buyers, including to PLN.
PetroChina is the operator of the Jabung block with 27.85715 percent interest. Other shareholders are Petronas Carigali (27.85715 percent), PP Oil&Gas (Indonesia-Jabung) Ltd (30 percent) and PT.Pertamina (Persero) (14.28570 percent)
