PLN seeks LNG supply from Middle East

State electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) will meet with LNG suppliers from Iran and Kuwait to seek possibility to secure LNG supply.

Senior Manager of Gas and Oil Procurement Suryadi Mardjoeki said LNG will be supplied either to its power plants through the proposed LNG receiving terminal that would be built in Jakarta or to East Indonesia.

Mardjoeki said that PLN together with state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) will build a number of LNG transportation, mini LNG receiving terminal in eastern part of Indonesia and re-gasification facility in East Java.

He said that South Korean firm Daewoo Engineering and an undisclosed Norway company has offered to supply small LNG carriers to PLN. (giok)
