State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) signed Wednesday a power supply agreement with cement firm PT Semen Gresik Tbk (SG) and its subsidiaries PT Semen Padang and PT Semen Tonasa.

PLN president director Dahlan Iskan said that the agreement include power price and the guarantee of power supply to Semen Gresik.

PLN offers 9.8 U.S. cent per Kwh, he said, adding that the price is cheaper than if SG builds power plant by its self.

Meanwhile, SG president director Dwi Soetjipto said that in the next three years the company would need additional 187MW from 252MW currently. (bernard)
