State owned utility company PT PLN is scheduled to ink the power purchase agreement (PPA) on a total of 11 geothermal power plants by the end of the year with a combined capacity of 1,226 MW, Investor Daily reported on Friday.
PLN has so far signed the PPA on geothermal projects with total capacity of 862.5 MW.
Head of Renewable Energy Division at PLN Muhammad Sofyan said the signing was made possible after the government approved a guarantee on each project.
?The signing of PPA on the 11 geothermal power plant projects will take place before the year-end. Some of which could even be signed before the first semester ends, namely PLTP Ungaran, PLTP Sokona and PLTP Wills,? he said on Thursday.
The latest negotiations, he added, put the selling price at US$8.09 cent per kWh for PLTP Ungaran, $13.8 cent for PLTP Sokona and $7.55 for PLTP Wills. (*)
