PLN sets April 29 for re-tender of CNG project

State owned utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will on April 29 relaunch the tender of its compressed natural gas (CNG) marine transportation project, said an executive.

Suryadi Mardjoeki, Head of Oil and Gas Fuel Division, told petromindo.com that the re-tender will be participated by bidders in the previous tender that have passed the pre-qualification stage.

Suryadi said among the companies that have passed the pre-qulification round are Mitsui & Co, Enersea, Shijiazhuang Enric Gas Equipment Co, Hyosung Corporation, PT Seamless Pipe Indonesia Jaya, and PT Surya Celsiunator.

PLN has decided to repeat tender for its CNG marine project after the earlier bidding round generate less-than-expected bidders. Suryadi added the re-tender process would take up to 1 month.

The CNG marine project will include the construction and operation of a CNG marine carrier, and the loading & discharging facilities. The CNG vessel will transport gas from Terang Sirasun gas field in East Java to PLN?s gas-fired power plant in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
