State-owned electricity company PT PLN has set up a joint task force to accelerate recovery of power supply in a number of areas in Central Sulawesi.
Power supply from the Poso hydro power plant to Poso, Parigi, Palu, Sigi, and Donggala has been disrupted following disturbance at three 150 kV high-voltage electricity transmission towers due to forest fire and falling trees, forcing PLN to apply rotating blackout in the region.
PLN said in a statement Tuesday the team would start work today, and hopefully one of the two power lines could resume operation later in the afternoon. The company did not say when the power supply disruption started. (*)
