PLN shortlists minemouth power plants bidders

State electricity firm PLN said it had short-listed six investors to build 2x100 MW minemouth power plants in the southern part of Sumatra and four to build 2x65 MW similar power plants in South Kalimantan through pre-qualification bid.

PLN director Ali Herman Ibrahim told Petromindo.Com that the six investors include Banpu-led consortium which proposed to build power plant in its mining concession in South Sumatra, PTBA-led consortium which proposed to build power plant in South Sumatra, an Indonesia Power-led consortium. He did not give detail about Names of South Kalimantan bidders.

He said that PLN would pick four winners for South Sumatra and two for South Kalimantan.

Final bid would be submitted early next year, he said. The winning bidders would construct the power plants and sell electricity produced to PLN.

The plants are slated to commence production in 2010. (alex)
