PLN signs contracts to construct 4 coal-fired power plants outside java

State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) signed on Friday the contracts four coal-fired power plants outside Java under the government?s 10,000 Megawatt (MW) fast track program.

The four power plants are the 2x25 MW Bangka Belitung 3 which will be built by a consortium comprising PT Truba Alam Manunggal, China Shanghai Corp and Tech Co, the 2x65 MW South Kalimantan 2 by the consortium of PT Wijaya Karya and Chengda Engineering Corp of China, the 2x10 MW Papua 2 by the consortium of PT Modern Widya Technical and PT Bousted Maxitern Industries and the 2x50 MW South Sulawesi by the consortium of Hubei Engineering Co Ltd and PT Bagus Karya.

Total investments for the projects are US$350 million.

The contracts were signed on the sidelines of the ceremony in East Kalimantan?s oil town of Senipah, Kutai Kertanegara regency, East Kalimantan where President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono inaugurated the new gas production facilities for the Sisi and Nubi fields owned by French firm Total Indonesie E&P in the province?s Mahakam block (alex)
