PLN signs electricity sale, purchase agreements

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN signed on Tuesday electricity sale and purchase agreements with ten new industrial customers in East Java, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) provinces for total capacity of 129 mega volt ampere (MVA).

PLN Business Director for Eastern Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara Region, Djoko R. Abumanan said that electricity supply in Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara are now in surplus condition. East Java has extra power reserves of 2,063 MW, with peak load of 5,197 MW. Bali has reserves of 512 MW and peak load of 773 MW. NTB holds reserves of 74.01 MW and peak load of 351.48 MW, while NTT holds reserves of 36.95 MW and peak load of 152.57 MW.

PLN signed the power sale and purchase agreements with five customers in East Java including Probolinggo Industrial Estate, PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, and PT Asplus Pacific, which are located in Gresik; and with PT Meta Adhya Tirta Umbulan and PT Megah, which are located in Pasuruan. Total installed capacity will be 107.4 MVA.

In NTB, agreements were signed with four new customers for total capacity of 1.7 MVA including Mataram City Hospital, Lombok Tourism Politechnique, PT Rhaee Royal Vannanei, and UD Sulindo Perkasa.

In NTT, one agreement for installed capacity of 20 MVA was signed with PT Gulf Mangan, which is developing a manganese smelter in Kupang.
