PLN signs HOA with steel makers for increased power supply

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has signed heads of agreement (HOA) with steel makers namely PT Gunung Raja Paksi and PT Gunung Garuda to increase power supply for the two firms by 200 MW in 2019.
PLN Director for central part of Java region, Amir Rosidin said on Wednesday that the two steel companies have demanded for higher power supply to facilitate their steel production expansion.
Amir said that the expansion was made to increase production to help meet rising domestic demand amid government?s infrastructure development.
He said that the two companies have each asked for additional supply of 100 MW. He declined to provide further details.
