PLN signs power supply agreements with three firms in Sulawesi

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN signed on Thursday power supply agreements with three companies in Sulawesi including real estate developer PT Real Estate Indonesia in South Sulawesi, smelter operator PT Cahaya Modern Metal Industri (CMMI) in Southeast Sulawesi, and port management company PT Pelindo IV in South Sulawesi, tribunnews.com reported.

The news portal said that under the agreement PLN will supply electricity to housing complex being developed by Real Estate Indonesia. The news portal did not say the capacity of the power supply.

It added that it would also supply electricity for the operation of smelter owned by CMMI, and for the Makassar New Port and Kendari New Port operated by Pelindo.

General Manager of PLN?s South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and West Sulawesi (Sulselrabar) region Bob Saril said that the region currently has power reserves of 200 MW, and will further increase at the end of this year to 450 MW, providing the utility firm with ample capacity to increase power supply to its customers in the region.
