PLN signs power supply deals in Bintan

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN signed on Friday MoUs with PT Bintan Resort Cakrawala and PT Bintan Inti Industrial Estate for power supply to the latter two companies, respectively at a capacity of 120 MVA and 40 MVA, on Bintan Island, Riau Islands Province.
PLN said in a statement that to help realize the supply of a combined 160 MVA electricity, PLN is currently developing a 9 MW gas-fired power plant in Teluksasah, expected to start operation in December of this year, and a 150 kV transmission line and 150 kV power substation.
The company said that it will continue to develop new power plants in Bintan to help meet power demand over the next two years. No further details were provided.
