PLN signs power supply MoUs in E. Kalimantan

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN signed on Wednesday MoUs to supply a combined 1,970 kVA of electricity in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan Province, to three customers including state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, local airport authority, and Airnav.
Local news portal Prokal.com quoted PLN Balikpapan Area Manager Achmad Syauki as saying that the utility firm will supply 1,385 kVA to Pertamina?s MOR VI DPPU Sepinggan Group, 240 kVA to Airnav (a company engaged in air navigation services), and 345 kVA to the Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Balikpapan Airport authority.
PLN said that the Mahakam power system currently has power surplus of around 200 MW. (*)
