PLN signs PPA for 115.6 MW renewable power projects

The Power Purchasing Agreements (PPA) were signed by each of power plant project developer with PLN?s general manager in each area where the projects are located. Present at the ceremony were PLN?s Business Director for Sumatra region Amir Rosidin and Regent of Simeulue, Aceh Ridwan NS, PLN said in a statement.
?We are in a dire need of energy to support electricity gird in Sumatra. Peak load in Sumatra at present is around 5,250 MW, very big. We just witnessed the signing of PPA for 115 MW (capacities), which is only 2 percent of the peak load, Amir said.
In his speech, Amir called on the developers to realize the projects soon after the contract signing, while calling on PLN?s general manager in each area where the projects are located to monitor the progress of the projects.
Following are the projects
Aceh:
PLTMN (biodiesel power plant) 5 MW in Semeulue Island to be developed by PT Tawon Energi Nabati. The firm will use CPO-based biodiesel as fuel.
North Sumatra:
- PLTM (mini hydropower plant) 10 MW in Siunong-Unong village, Humbang Hasundutang regency to be developed PT Bakara Energi Lestari
- PLTBg (biogas power plant) 1 MW in Sidomulyo village, Labuhan Batu regency to be developed by PT Siringo-ringo
Riau:
- PLTBm (biomass power plant) 15 MW in Pangkalan Kerinci to be developed by PT Riau Prima Energi
- PLTBg (biogas power plant) 1 MW in Pasir to be developed by PT Permata Hijau Sawit
- PLTMG (gas engine power plant) 25 MW in Pelalawan to be developed by PT Langgam Power. PLN will buy excess power from the project.
West Sumatra
PLTM 13.4 MW in Pelangai Gadang village, Pesisir Selatan regency to be developed by PT Dempo Sumber Energi
South Sumatra and Bengkulu
PLTM with a total capacity of 21.2 MW scattered in in Kota Agung village in Lahat regency, South Sumatra; Banding Agung village, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Selatan regency, South Sumatra; Muara Kisan village in OKU Selatan regency, South Sumatra; Padang Guci Hulu village, Seluma regency, Bengkulu; Kepahiang, Rejang Lebong, and Bengkulu Utara. The developers of the projects are PT Green Lahat, PT Nusantara Indah Energindo, PT Midigio, PT Sahung Brantas Energy, PT Malaka Guna Energi, PT Tropisindo Sumber Energi, dan PT Klaai Dendan Lestari
Bangka Belitung:
PLTBm dan PLTBg with a total capacity of 14 MW located respectively in Cengkong Abang village (2 MW) to be developed by PT Bangka Biogas Sinergy; in Mempaya Bangka village (7 MW) to be developed by PT Belitung Energy; and Tempilang Belitung (5 MW) to be developed by Listrindo Kencana
Lampung:
- PLTM 7 MW in Kemu village, Way Kanan regency to be developed by PT Uway Energy Perdana.
- PLTBm 3 MW in Gunung Batin village, Lamung Tengah regency to be developed by PT Gunung Madu Plantations.
- PLTU (coal fired power plant) with a total capacity of 24 MW, consisting of PLTU Tarahan Port (17 MW) and PLTU to be developed by PT. Budi Starch & Sweetener Tbk (7 MW). PLN will buy 10 MW excess power from PLTU Tarahan Port.
